Apple announcing new iPhone next week

Any man out there holding out for the next iPhone, Apple has confirmed that they will be announcing the next version of the iconic handset on October 4th in the US, or 4am (AEDT) on October 5th for Australians.

The rumour mill has been bursting at the seams about what to expect from the next handset, but the most prevalent rumour is that of universal voice controls for the new device, turning the phone into a personal assistant.

Whether that turns out to be true or not will be revealed in a week or so, but either way, we can expect to get a release date and the official launch of iOS5 as well.
