iPad 2 for $0 upfront on a plan – from Vodafone tomorrow

Vodafone have long been teasing Australian’s with the prospect of an iPad on a plan, well today, at 5.45pm they have announced their pricing plan.

As of Saturday October 1, the iPad 2 is available through Vodafone for $0 up front from $45 per month.

The plans are typically complex to understand, but once you get the gist of them it’s pretty clear.

I’ve included the full Vodafone tables below, but essentially there are three options

1/ Pre Paid up front – 16Gb iPad 2 for $745, with 1.5Gb of Data included (64Gb iPad 2 is $947 up front same data)

2/ 12 month plan – Up front you can get a 16Gb iPad 2 for $299, with anything from $52 a month up to $96 a month depending on your data needs (1.5Gb to 18Gb), higher for the 64Gb model.

3/ 23 month plan – where you can get either the 16 or 64Gb iPad 2 for $0 up front, just by committing to a monthly spend of between $45 and $96 for the 16Gb or $53 and $97 for the 64Gb.

It’s complicated, but it always is.  Look essentially, if you’ve been busting for an iPad but can’t cobble the cash together for the big purchase – Vodafone has the answer.
