In a similar trend to last year, motorsports dominates the tops listings, with Mark Webber, Casey Stoner and Chad Reed all in the mix. But it’s Australia’s NBA star Andrew Bogut that has taken out the top prize.
Unsurprisingly, Melbournite Bogut, who is the Milwaukee Bucks’ star player, has sealed the number one spot with his $13 million contract. The Bucks’ star has had a rough patch of late recovering from a horrendous fall where he landed on his right arm and suffered a dislocated right elbow, broken right hand, and a wrist sprain. The NBA lockout which has just been rectified has given him extra time to get match ready though. He even came close to playing a few NBL games with the Sydney Kings.
Australian F1 driver Mark Webber, ranked third in this years World Driver’s Championship, came in third with a handy $9 million, just half a million shy of second place earner, MotoGP champion Casey Stoner. Motor Cross rider Chad Reed wasn’t far behind on $8.5 million.
The top five was rounded out by another star on wheels, Cadel Evans. The Tour de France winner, Australia’s first, earned a comfortable $5 million. As for the women, Sam Stosur came in top, the US Open champion earning $4 million.
EFTM’s Trevor Long, despite predictions, failed to make the list.
