Mates Rates: Fly Scoot Airlines to Singapore for $88 one way!

We’re sharing this a bit early today so you have a chance of getting in there. New airline Scoot, owned by airline giant Singapore Airlines, is having a ridiculous sale, with a one-way fare to Singapore from just $88. Insanity! If you’re keen on heading to the island state between 26 June and 27 October 2012, then Scoot has a serious deal for you. For just $88 you could nab yourself a one way fare. It’s seat only, but that’s less than it costs to get from Sydney to Melbourne! Add baggage (15kg plus 7kg carry on) and you’ll be paying around $110 while adding a meal to the seat and bag will then set you back $123. Just $123 one way all the way to Singapore. You’ll likely never see a fair like that again. And you can still book for around the Singapore Grand Prix at that price.

There are a few more options as well. You can choose a seat at no extra cost, but if you want to place yourself in an exit row or a seat that has a little extra leg room, it will cost you from $24. According to the Scoot seating plan, there is a small section at the front of economy that only has seating with extra leg room. For an extra $24 it’s well worth it as the seating arrangement will be tight. Scoot will be using the Boeing 777 aircraft which is usually laid out in a 3-3-3 seating plan. But Scoot, like Air Asia, will use 3-4-3, adding an additional seat which will make the ride a little more squashy. To be fair though, Emirates also uses 3-4-3 in its 777 aircraft.

Scoot will fly you to/from Sydney or the Gold Coast for these ridiculous fairs. Best thing is that you land at Terminal 2 in Changi Airport in Sinagpore, not the budget terminal, so you still get all the duty free goodness.

We booked a return fare yesterday for two with extra leg room, bags and meals for just $588 all up. It took a few times to get on the site and that was a day before they were released to the general public for sale. Be quick if you want to get on this one.

Oh, and for those that want to splash out, there is a business class for under $400 one way.
