It was widely regarded as one of the best new TV shows of last year, and now Warner Bros has confirmed that the first season of the HBO series Game of Thrones will hit Australian stores this week. Winter is coming indeed.
If you missed out on seeing the show on Showtime last year, it tells the bitter battle for power in the Seven Kingdoms, based on the novel of George R. R. Martin. Like a bloody soap opera with a twist of fantasy, the show offers stunning performances and gritty characters unlike anything else on television.
The DVD is set to retail for $60, and the Blu-ray will cost $70 (and the HD versions are worth the extra $10), and given that the second season is fast approaching, it’s the perfect way to get yourself ready for the epic battles teased in the most recent trailer for season 2:
Epic.
Price: $59.95 (DVD), $69.95 (Blu-ray)
