The Boxee connects directly to the internet to bring you free content direct to your TV. If you want to make the most of it, you may need to get your geek on and set up a VPN to trick services that you live in the US, but even without doing that, there are plenty of features worth spending the money on, including the ability to see what your friends are watching for a social online entertainment experience.
At $199 plus shipping, it’s probably the best value we’ve seen for the device. If you don’t like the idea of an Apple TV, this is easily the next best thing.
