Bacardi Oakheart is rum for the brave of heart

Celebrating its 150th anniversary this year, Bacardi has just released its first major product innovation in 15 years. Bacardi Oakheart offers a flavoursome spiced rum perfect for the modern day adventurer.

Charred in American white-oak barrels, Oakheart is infused with cinnamon, nutmeg, honey and vanilla to create a flavoursome amber spirit.

Bacardi are targeting men for the launch of the new spiced rum, believing that it calls out to the sense of adventure in young, excitable men’s hearts.

“Bacardi OakHeart is a significant new product development for the world’s number one Rum brand and will help Bacardi establish a leadership position in the market. We anticipate Bacardi OakHeart will attract a new generation of male consumers to the brand, one with an irrepressible spirit for adventure” says Ashley Hughes at Bacardi Lion.

We’ll get our hands on a bottle to test it out soon, but you can find it at the local bottle shop, with an RRP of $40 for 700 mL. Bacardi say that the spices make it taste great with coke, or straight in a chilled stein over ice. Either way, it sounds exciting…
