Mates Rates: $100 off Virgin Australia or Air New Zealand trans-Tasman flights

Virgin Australia and its partner in crime for trans-Tasman flights, Air New Zealand, if offering travellers $100 off return trips. Bargain!

The caveat? Well, there isn’t really much of one. Dates are pretty open up until December 13 and there are obviously a limited number of seats available. The biggest one is that you only have 48 hours to book, and the clock has started ticking already.

You will get $100 off any flight to NZ within the stipulated terms and conditions and you can either book via Air New Zealand or Virgin Australia. Being that some flights are as cheap as $138 one-way (Sydney to Christchurch during certain times), getting $50 off that segment and then $50 off the return segment will equal a pretty decent saving, closing up on 50 per cent.

So if you were thinking of crossing the pond, there has never been a better time to book.
