Renault Alpine A110-50 Concept: Bringing back the famous name

Renault has produced a concept car that brings back the famous Alpine nameplate. The Renault Alpine A110-50 Concept is built to celebrate the 50 year anniversary of the car manufacturer’s famous model and will pack a serious punch. The Renault Alpine A110-50 Concept images surfaced on the internet yesterday. While they are still simply concept, the rumoured details of the car are not hard to find. Motoring journalists believe it will produce 300kW of power at 420Nm thanks to a V6 powerplant while the chassis will be built of lightweight tube frame. The new Renault Alpine A110-50 Concept is said to be based on the Renault DeZir concept car.

“We’re working on an Alpine. It’s a possibility and we’re looking at what an Alpine would be in a RenaultSport line-up,” Renault product manager Beatrice Foucher told Autocar.

The original Apline dominated the rally scene in the 70s.

According to the TopSpeed website, if the car goes into production they are guessing it will be around 2014. Here’s hoping.
