New iPad Smart Case protects the front and back of your iPad

The Smart cover that Apple launched with the iPad 2 was nice and all, but it left the back side of your tablet awfully exposed to the elements. At the WWDC overnight, Apple announced the Smart Cover, which gives the magic of a magnetic cover while protecting both sides of your iPad.

Compatible with both the iPad 2 and the new iPad, the case uses the same Polyurethane design as the smart cover, with the same tri-fold stand functionality and magnetic waking mechanism.

It costs $59, and has the option of free laser engraving when purchased online. That’s a slight premium over the smart cover, but you do get a heap of extra casing there. It also comes in six bright colours, including a Product RED version for fighting AIDS in Africa.

Price: $59
