Pure launches Jongo, a wireless speaker system with full app control

PURE Jongo Family of speakers

Pure is a name associated mainly with digital radio in Australia, although in recent years new products such as docks or wireless speakers have entered the company’s catalogue. At CES 2013, Pure launched a wireless sound system to rival the likes of Sonos in the market.

PURE Jongo S340B

The Jongo range is made up of three products. The first is a small portable wireless speaker – the Jongo S340B – which has five speakers, one on each side of the cube and an upward facing sub-woofer on the top. Inside is a battery which holds between 10 to 12 hours of charge allowing you to take your wireless music streaming on the go.

The largest of the Jongo range is the T640B which retails in the UK for £250, and has a huge sound with 100W of balanced stereo in two 5.25-inch drivers. The T640B can be stood in landscape or portrait mode or hung on a wall.

Finally the Jongo A140B is an adaptor which brings your traditional and existing HiFi into the Jongo wireless system by connected to an input on your HiFi.

On their own, each can be a bluetooth speaker for your smartphone allowing a direct play from the phone to that speaker.

Once connected to a WiFi network, the speakers can be grouped together to play the same content and be controlled using an Android or iOS application.

Pure Connect app controls your Jongo

If you have more than one smartphone or tablet, it is possible to push different content to different speakers simply by launching the application on the second device.

They all come in a range of colours for the ultimate interior co-ordination. Prices and release for Australia are yet to be announced.
