The EFTM Garage – Volkswagen Passat 130kW TDI

The unmistakable look of a Volkswagen runs across the entire range, slightly squared off around the edges the recent design upgrades have added even more to the stunning good looks of the VW range.  This week we’re behind the wheel of a Passat Wagon with a 130kW Diesel engine.

Volkswagen Passat – Sure it’s on the street not the garage, but you get it:)

Make: Volkswagen

Model: Passat

Variant: 2.0 TDI Wagon.

Standard Features: Read-view camera, Satellite Navigation, Alloy Wheels, Automatic tail-gate door, 103kW Diesel, DSG Transmission, Driver fatigue detection, Bluetooth phone and streaming audio.

Price: $51,618.50 (Drive-away price quoted)

Wow Factor: Good Looks, Quality interior

Most Impressive: Great list of standard features like sat-nav and driver fatigue detection, and frankly the quality of this interior is hard to look past.

Not so impressive: VW aren’t experiencing the best time at the moment after the major recall recently. As far as drivability goes you won’t notice a thing, so convincing your mates that it’s the right purchase might take some time.
