Surf’s up in the Maldives – Surfing Holiday with Donavon Frankenreiter

Fans of sport have the opportunity to join event holidays where a former great of the game hosts the group and they enjoy the games, dinners and nights on the town together. If your passion is surfing then we might have found the ultimate holiday for you – a week in the Maldives with surfer and musician Donavon Frankenreiter.

I don’t know about you but I figured a week in the Maldives wouldn’t be all that cheap, so when I saw these travel packages from travel company The Perfect Wave starting at $2700 for five days including flights and accommodation I thought it was well worth a mention!

Holiday Inn Resort Kandooma

Staying at the Kandooma Resort in the Maldives you’ll see those stunning blue seas, islands and beaches that your mind immediately associates with the word Maldives.

The resort has a 4.5 star review rating at Trip Advisor so it’s not something to brush aside as cheap.

You’re travelling there for the surfing which will be dished up with transfers to “Tucky Joe’s” – a fast, barrelling, left hand reef break and “Riptides” – a right hander with long open waves perfect for longboarding.

Donavon Frankenreiter

To make it a bit more interesting, the folks at The Perfect Wave are also introducing a competition element for those who book for a trip in June 2014 – the chance to win a seaplane trip to a secret surf spot with Donavon Frankenreiter as the guide.

Donavon will also perform intimate shows in the first weeks of June so there’s really some good times on offer for fans of surf and music.

The Perfect Wave have both 7 and 10 day packages available flying Singapore Airlines so if you’re looking for a surfing escape – this looks like a cracking idea.
