National chain Officeworks has begun selling 3D printers in selected stores across Australia along with the supplies and software to get you started in this new printing revolution.
Taking something that has been a fun gimmick to the hard core retail level really does mean 3D printing is about to hit mainstream. The 3D System CUBE 3D printer can print objects up to 140mm x 140mm x 140mm in size.
The Cube 3D Printer is available in four colours – White or Silver being sold in-store, while on the Officeworks website you can get the White and Silver along with Blue and Magenta.
It’s the kind of product you can get started with straight away as it comes with 25 ready to use objects you can start printing plus there are any number available then online to print or create your own with the included software.
Of course the “ink” is available at Officeworks to keep you going, and they are $60 a pop which isn’t to bad when compared to traditional paper ink printers!
So, time to think about making your own smart phone cases? Would take about two hours to print so get started!
