Beatles channel created on Apple TV

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Beatles first appearance on the Ed Sullivan show Apple have added a “Beatles” channel to your Apple TV as of today.  Inside that channel is a chance to watch some amazing footage as well as buy and listen to all the Beatles catalogue of music

Sitting alongside apps (or channels – depending on who you talk to) like NBA, NHL, Red Bull TV, Crackle and more “The Beatles” stands out as an icon on the refreshed Apple TV home screen with a distinctive black and white image of the “Fab Four” performing on the Ed Sullivan show.

Launch into the channel and you’ll find a clear 50th branding on the page along with a single item to play which is a 15 minute stream of black and white footage from the Beatles very first appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show.

Inside “The Beatles” channel on Apple TV

Originally split into two parts, the segments have been joined into one segment for easy viewing.  In total you’ll hear five great classic tracks

  1. A glimse of the action on stage at the Ed Sullivan show 50 years ago

    All my lovin

  2. Till there was you
  3. She Loves you
  4. I saw her standing there
  5. I want to hold your hand

The crowd goes wild and Ed Sullivan takes the time to thank the New York Police Department for their help with what must have been a crowd control nightmare.

If you have Apple TV all you need to do is turn it on and the channel will appear, on the second row of icons.  Additionally you will see “iTunes Radio” appear next to “Music” and if you love your Beatles music there’s a Beatles radio station to listen to – but be warned, its more covers of Beatles songs than Beatles originals.
