Cancel The Noise With Soul headphones

Long haul flights or even brief domestic commutes can be torturous when unwanted noise invades your experience. There are the loud talkers, the poor family struggling with an uncooperative infant or simply the drone of the engines. With little assistance from the standard disposable ear phones on offer, there has to be a better way. Noise cancelling headphones provide some relief and SOUL Electronics is one of many who offer a decent solution. EFTM has been testing the recently released JET Superior Performance Noise Cancelling Headphones.

About The Company

SOUL JET Superior Performance Noise Cancelling Headphones.

SOUL Electronics operates globally and focuses on consumer electronics and manufacturing. Like others they’ve never shied away from the odd celebrity endorsement. Think Usain Bolt, the rapper Ludacris, NBA player Dwight Howard and the man responsible for the most annoying song in history – Psy. Their product range specialises in audio delivery products such as headphones, earphones, speakers and a range of accessories.

The Product

The JET Superior Performance Noise Cancelling Headphones have just been released in Australia. They offer a new four-microphone system to filter out ambient noise so all you hear is the music. The system operates inside and out of the ear cup, accompanied by sophisticated drivers and circuitry for the actual sound delivery.

The physical design is sleek and simply nice to hold and wear. Oversized ear pads help further filter out noise and aid long-term comfort.

The Sound

Active Mode is selected by flicking a switch on the left cup which illuminates a blue light. An included AAA battery powers the noise cancelling feature. There’s instantly a noticeable increase in music loudness and power. Bass is quite pronounced but the actual clarity is a fraction muddy, it could do with a fraction more treble. But I suspect the target market will be more than happy with the seemingly Hip Hop biased tune of these headphones. Passive Mode allows audio to play even after the battery is depleted, with no filtering the sound is weaker. To get the most from the JET I’d suggest you always have a spare battery!

Accessories

There are two cables provided. One has a single button controller to manage calls and music playback when used with a phone. The second is an in-line controller that works with all Apple devices.

There’s a hard carry / storage case, an Airline adapter and 1/4” plug adapter.

Where To Get Them

At $249.00 The Jet is available from www.soulelectronics.com and Powermove Distrubution, Australia’s leading audio and lifestyle accessories distributor to mass merchants and specialist retail channels.

Conclusion

The SOUL JET Superior High Performance Noise Cancelling Headphones are stylish, light and very comfortable. The Deluxe Headband cushions well and is easily adjustable for the perfect fit. The Noise Cancelling feature works a treat, but there is a degree of leakage back into the outside environment, keep that in mind when on your next plane, train or bus experience!
