Optus, Telstra and Vodafone announce Samsung Galaxy S5 pricing

With Samsung’s big news out for the night, the big three telcos have been busy releasing pricing information for Australian consumers who want first pick at the Samsung Galaxy S5 – EFTM has all the details

Samsung GALAXY S5

With devices outright costing upwards of$900 and a very keen Australian market wanting the latest and greatest phones, the plans on offer from the Telcos are all important at a big launch like the Samsung Galaxy S5.

All three big telcos are taking pre-orders from tomorrow (March 27) with the Galaxy S5 landing in stores on April 11.

Here’s the complete list of plans available for prospective buyers from Telstra, Vodafone and Optus.

Some notes:

  • Vodafone plans have two data values – they are offering “double data” for people who sign up to these plans before July. That double data does apply for the full contract period – so, get in fast.
  • Telstra have that “new handset feeling” promotion going on – I’ve used that promotion’s concept of an extra$10 per month to “shorten” the contract to 12 months. In reality your contract is 24 months and if you accept a new handset after 12 months you are also extending your contract an additional 24 months, but the cost of THIS handset is what I’m trying to capture. Check with Telstra on those specifics if interested.
