QuizUp – the next App Addiction for you and your mates

The world of Apps has changed personal entertainment forever.  Words with Friends, Draw Something, Song Pop, even Angry Birds – more people playing games in their spare time than ever before.  Some addictive on their own (Angry Birds) others because of the social connectivity of them (Words with Friends) – QuizUp might be number 79 on the Free app charts for iPhone today, but it’s rising with a bullet.

Quiz Up – Topic List

The idea is simple.  Matchplay on a single topic.  The topic choices are amazing, from a huge range of TV shows to movies to Sport, Games and History.

You pick a topic, click Play Now and within moments the app will download a set of seven questions and find you an opponent.

The game happens in real-time, using a question with multiple choice answers, or a flash card with multiple choice answers.

Quiz Up – Challenge Screen

I started off playing logos (I love brands), then Formula 1, then Android (fail!) and Seinfeld.  So many options.

Then I discovered the friends list – linked with your Facebook account you can view your friends who are playing the game or invite them to play it.

Quiz Up – Flashcard quiz (Logos)

When you challenge someone who is not online at that very moment you can play your ‘turn’ in the game and wait for them to come back and play at some point down the track.

The faster you answer the more points you get – this is addictive, it’s fun, and the app is brilliantly well designed from a graphic and a user experience point of view.

Highly recommended – if you can spare the time!
