Clean up with the new Philips Sonicare DiamondClean Black edition

If your teeth need a good clean, there’s nothing better than a powered toothbrush to get into hard to reach places and really attack the plaque in hard-to-reach places. Philips has a new take on the power brush and we’ve given it a tooth test (road test / tooth test – get it?)

That’s a Philips Sonicare sitting in a glass which is great when its time to rinse, but doubles as a charger for the toothbrush.   Like many of these power brushes there isn’t an exposed charging point, instead the brush uses conductive charging through the glass.

When you’re on the road, the travel case for the Sonicare comes with a similar system, while the handle just sits in the case you plug the USB charger into your PC or power point.

If you’re new to power toothbrushes the Philips Sonicare has a nifty approach to getting you going.  That first brush feels weird – it tickles frankly.  So over the first week of brushing the brush slowly ramps up its power to allow you to get used to the feeling.  It really makes a difference, because coming to the Sonicare at full strength would make it hard for many to consider using it again.

This device has a more traditional brush head on it (not the round style of other brushes) but that doesn’t change the strange sensation that comes from the power brush.

There’s five brushing modes (Clean, White, Polish, Gum Care & Sensitive)

You really do need to push through it and get used to the feeling to ensure you’re getting the right brush.

At $299.95 you’ve got your bank balance to remind you to keep trying, and the results will be there when you next visit the dentist.

Philips Sonicare is available from The Shaver Shop, Harvey Norman, Myer, David Jones and other retailers.
