OTTERBOX iPhone 6

There certainly are plenty of cases on the market already for the iPhone 6, but if you ask around – for several years now – there’s been one brand that has been renowned for its durability and protection – Otterbox – and if you need protection – you’ve gotta take a look.

OtterBox offer three levels of protection – the Commuter Series, Symmetry and Defender Series.

The Commuter is a two-piece case to prevent the everyday bumps or drops – It will set you back $39.95

Symmetry Series OtterBox cases are also $39.95 and are relatively similar to the Commuter.

The big daddy of them all however is the Defender.

We’ve been putting it through its paces, and frankly, we’re pretty sure you could drive a truck over it.

This is a three-layer case, so much so it’s a bit hard to work out how to put together the first time.  Once you’ve done that you’ll find a built-in screen protector – forget those crazy stick-one ones.  Plus, down over the home button there’s a special membrane which covers the TouchID up to block out gunk and grime, but still makes the TouchID function available.

It’s an awkward thumbprint to get TouchID working, mainly because of the size of the outer case putting a large raised edge around the bottom.  But that’s not going to bug you if you’ve shelled out the $59.95 to get the protection the defender offers.

Frankly, it’s for a group of people who want solid protection, but also want the latest cool gadget.  Perhaps they’re also taking it out of the case on the weekends?

It’s not for me, because it adds so much bulk to what is a super slim phone.  However, for those in need of “insurance” over their device by way of a case – It’s hard to recommend anything other than the OtterBox Defender.

TouchID still works, and once you get the phone in it, its a winner” author=”Trevor Long” pubdate=”2014-10-22″ user_review=”4.5″ min_review=”0″ max_review=”5″ ]
