Ruslan Kogan today threw yet another spanner in the works of the big-name TV companies and retailers with a stunning price tag on his new Ultra High Definition 65 inch TV. So, just how does the pricing stack up?
But, as they say, the devil is in the detail.
Firstly, as always with online shopping, remember, delivery is extra. With delivery in Sydney and Freight insurance (you’d pay the $15 to keep it insured right?) it’s actually a $1704 purchase. Still a great deal.
Secondly, there’s a whole other tier of TV companies that Kogan seemingly ignore in this comparison.
We’ve looked at all the big retailers for 65 inch TVs and found the following
The big difference is the “second tier” brands. Hisense, TCL, and perhaps you could throw in Seiki and Changhong.
Kogan still comes out very well, in fact, you can’t argue it’s the best price (lets ignore the 2nds world deal ok?)
We haven’t seen the Kogan UHD TV, but in the Long family lounge we’ve got a 65 inch TCL UHD TV. It’s great, and if Kogan can match that quality and picture this 65 incher is going to be great for the family on a budget or the man fitting out his man-cave.
