Five Aussie apps for you to try this Australia Day

Happy Australia Day!  What better way to figuratively tattoo the Southern Cross to your arm than to download some fair dinkum Aussie apps!  Here’s five of my favourites!

Crossy Road

WARNING: This thing is super addictive, but pure simple and family clean awesome.  My 8-year-old plays it, as do many of my listeners – some of whom (Robert!) taunt me with their high scores.

Best of all, Aussie developers Andy Sum and Matt Hall are bloody top blokes.

Enjoy, and challenge your friends!

Real Racing 3

Nothing new here, but if you haven’t tried it out – do it.  FireMonkeys are a Melbourne App team who were bought out by global giant EA when they realised mobile was a thing – and Fire Monkeys were doing great stuff.

Real Racing 3 is free, and if you wanna spend nothing its cool – or, dig into your wallet and buy some cool cars faster than you can earn them.

Regardless, graphics are outstanding, and Melbourne is included!

Quick Math+

I had NO IDEA this was Australian!.

I got my son playing this one to find that justification that these iPads and iPods could really be beneficial for education – and Quick Math (among the others developed by) Shiny Things is just that.

You’re learning maths, and writing – because you write the answers on-screen – great for the younger iOS users.

Challenge your kids – might just scare you a little!

Bonza Word Puzzle

I love this just because it has Bonza in the title!  This a rethink of scrabble, crosswords, Wheel of Fortune and then some all in one.  A great one for the mind and to keep you on your toes.

Loopy HD

Hey – Jimmy Fallon said so!  This is the app Jimmy uses to mix some great tracks live on his Tonight Show – and – it’s Australian!  Go get it and have some fun!

And….

Just for good measure, show some love to the amazing – and genuinely inspirational team at The Whole Pantry.  Helping you out with recipe ideas with a healthy twist and then some
