In a time gone by there were a whole bunch of low-cost mobile carriers on the market and when Amaysim joined the pack they had something special to offer to make them stand out from the crowd. Today, they’ve done the same thing with 4G – finally.
When they launched in November 2010 they offered a unique super low price per minute and price per text. This was a big deal at the time which has been followed by some, but at the same time there’s probably 80% less low cost (MVNO) companies battling for the low-cost dollar.
The “unlimited” plans they launched in the years following kept them on the game, and they’ve grown to almost 700,000 customers to date.
In late 2011 Telstra launched a 4G network – more than three years later Amaysim is adding the “4G” tag to it’s deals.
Running on the Optus network, Amaysim have been negotiating long and hard with Optus to not only extend their MVNO (Mobile Virtual Network Operator) agreement, but to get the best deal for customers and offer 4G at the same time.
Optus had almost no choice to help out, 700,000 customers lost if Amaysim was to disappear and they wouldn’t all go to Optus, so better to have some of the revenue than one I’d say.
And boy, have Amaysim delivered that value for their customers
6GB of data plus unlimited standard talk and text (All within Australia).
4GB of data plus unlimited standard talk and text (All within Australia).
1.5GB of data plus unlimited standard text and 500 minutes of standard voice calls (All within Australia)
Customers on this plan also receive unlimited amaysim-to-amaysim calls nationwide
Here’s all their plans:
Their existing unlimited 3G plans will stay in effect for existing customers, but will be taken off the market.

Give them some credit, they know how to take a dig at themselves for taking so bloody long to make 4G available:
