Alcatel Onetouch releasing the Go Play rugged phone in Australia

There’s something exciting about a brand like Alcatel Onetouch – they quietly climb to number 3 in mobile sales in Australia at the end of 2015 and have almost cornered the low-cost pre-paid market.  This year they have something cool which will help keep that growth going.

The Go Play is a Shockproof, Waterproof & Dustproof IP67 certified smartphone that will hit the Aussie market at $199.  yep, under $200 for a phone that has features rarely now seen on many phones.

It weighs just 151grams, has a 5 inch HD IPS screen, a 2500mAh battery and 8GB onboard memory expandable to 32GB.

Quad core, running Android 5.0 I see little here that would disappoint most users, and from the look of the screen and the overall feel it’s really going to impress.

Great colours of which at least two will be available with the first carrier to range the device, this is a phone that not only performs well but helps you stand out a bit too.

It actually has a companion watch too – using the Alcatel Onetouch smartwatch platform, though the cost of that looks likely to mean we won’t see that in retail in Australia.

I reckon this one is a cracker, and can’t wait to give it a proper test when it hits our shores.

EFTM’s coverage of CES 2016 is made possible with support from Intel, Hisense, Sony, Samsung, LG and Alcatel One Touch
