Ford Australia today announced that following strong demand for the all-new Mustang an extra 2,000 will be heading to Australian shores. At the same time they’ve added new colours, and new in-car technology to please 2017 owners.
The new shipment will arrive toward the end of 2016 with Model Year 2017 (MY17) vehicles set to be packed with the latest in-car infotainment system from Ford – Sync 3.
Sync 3 is a big win for owners, as it offers Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Ford Applink 3.0 as well as increased functionality and better responsiveness.
1,500 more orders were placed for the Mustang than Ford Australia had expected, creating an “Instant Sales Halo” for the Ford lineup.
To diversify the range on the road, there will also be three new colours in that shipment, with Lightning Blue, Grabber Blue and White Platinum Tri-Coat joining the current mix – though we’d have to expect it unlikely they beat the most popular colour in Australia – Race Red.
40% of Aussie Mustangs sold in February are sold with the EcoBoost engine, justifying that implementation for Ford globally and Ford Australia.
The queue is long, but unlike a Tesla Model 3, you won’t have to wait years for your Ford Mustang.
