Sony adds colour and light to Bluetooth with it’s new Extra Bass range

I’ve seen a lot of Bluetooth speakers in my time, and frankly, it’s getting hard to differentiate between them.  Different logos, different materials and sizes.  Sony are going to shake that up with some flashing lights in 2017.

Imagine the local electronics store and those shelves and shelves of Bluetooth Speakers, now imagine a bunch of Sony ones flashing colours as the music plays.  It’s going to get your attention and get your interest.

To be fair, Sony aren’t the first, won’t be the last – but they are the biggest thus far.

The Extra Bass Range now consists of four speaker sizes and types, all coming in a vast array of colours.

SRS-XB10 is the smallest of the bunch, made to be dangled from your backpack or bike, or sat on the cable as a stand.

Stepping up through the range from the SRS-XB20 through to the XB30 and XB40 the speakers get larger, louder and there’s more and more lights.

The XB20 has lights around the edge, the XB30 has additional strobes while the XB40 adds LED on the speaker cone itself.

They are in so many colours you won’t be disappointed and if the 2016 model pricing is anything to go by it’s going to be priced well too.

Sony’s Extra Bass speakers are a great sound with the additional button to throw in extra bass – of course, and it’s great.

The 20, 30 and 40 add new modes like party pairing where you can have a chain of 10 speakers to really amplify your sound, while the XB10 can be paired with a mate for stereo sound.

These things really look the part, and I can’t wait to try them out.
