Telcos are starting to release their plan pricing for the Galaxy S8 and S8+ – so we’ll publish the big ones here, and do some analysis when they’re all in.
We’re expecting Vodafone late into Thursday, while the other big guys have put out their pricing already.
Remember, buying outright – The Samsung Galaxy S8 will be $1,199 and Galaxy S8+ will be $1,349.
The key line for Telstra is all about their network – with their “Gigabit LTE” network rolling out nationally, Telstra say the Galaxy S8 is the first capable of Gigabit speeds (category 16).
This makes them more than 50% faster than last year’s phone in 4GX areas, and while “Gigabit” isn’t what you’ll get even in the CBD – you might see 300mbps+!

Beginning Friday, Optus will take pre-orders for both the S8 and S8+, and for a limited time new and recontracting customers will be eligible for Optus Mobile TV streaming for the life of the plan at no additional cost.
Looking at the plans, these premium phones are really pushing up the average monthly cost of contracts. The New S8 will not be free of handset costs until the $130 plan!
