Hot Or Cold For Hours – It’s The Klean Kanteen!

Keeping your drink of choice hot for 14 hours or cold for 40 may well sound unlikely. But after this little gem recently came across the EFTM desk the claims proved to be more than true. Essentially a high-end thermos, the Klean Kanteen Insulated Wide Bottle is pretty dam handy.

There are a couple of things that add to its usefulness, first up it’s 100 percent leak proof. That’s thanks to what they call the Café Cap 2.0. More than just a lid, it contains a number of parts, including a silicon valve that make the Insulated Wide Bottle literally chuckable even with piping hot contents inside.

The bottle is remarkably well-crafted, double insulated, made from non-toxic, electropolished food grade stainless steel. What that means is that you won’t get that metallic aftertaste like from some cheaper products. As for the claims about keeping your beverage warm or chilled, I can certainly attest to that. While we did have the larger size, I left the bottle full of ice cold water in the blistering Sydney heatwave for well over 24 hours. It remained what was probably just off being super chilled, but I doubt many would leave it in 45 degree direct sun for such a period. So it does what it claims, no doubt.

At the end of the day there are cheaper and nearly just as effective products around. But as an investment and for sheer build quality this, at the very least, is the perfect outdoor gift.

The Wide Vacuum Insulated Klean Kanteen with Leak-Proof Cafe Cap 2.0 is available in 3 sizes:

  • 12oz RRP $50.50 (hot for 8, cold for 24)
  • 16oz RRP $56.00 (hot for 10, cold for 30)
  • 20oz RRP $59.50 (hot for 14, cold for 40)

It is available in eight stylish colours for every taste: Shale Black, Brushed Stainless Steel, Deep Sea, Granite Peak, Neptune Blue, Roasted Pepper, Vineyard Green, and Wild Grape.
