The Bluetooth speaker market is ultra-competitive, meaning brand recognition is critical in the buyer choice – Bose is one of the best known brands in Audio and they now have a $170 Bluetooth speaker.
And Bose are pushing hard on quality too with their product director Brian Maguire saying “No other Bluetooth speaker this small sounds this good” – that’s a big call, but a critical one, because the less you spend, the lower the quality has always been a good guide.
The Micro is small, 9.5cm square, and 3.8cm thick, weighing in under 300 grams.
And it’s waterproof too – rated IPX7. Bose say the Soundlink Micro was “made and tested to withstand soapy water, chlorinated water, and salt water. In the rain or snow, dropped in the sink, pool, or ocean, the Micro will keep playing”
Audio nerds will appreciate the custom transducer, mini dual-passive radiators and we’ll all appreciate the rechargeable battery.
It comes in Black, dark Blue and Bright Orange, and will be available later this month for $169.95.
