So you wanna break a world record huh? May as well break your own if that’s the case, and that’s what Aussie YouTubers have done, setting a new Guiness World Record for the highest basketball shot at over 200m.
Officially 201.422m it’s about 20m higher than their last record which they “threw” at the Mauvoisin Dam in Valais, Switzerland.
This came after setting the record some years back, and then having that broken by another YouTuber – so they are really keen to hold onto this one.
This year they headed to Maletsunyane Falls in Semonkong, Lesotho in South Africa. They setup a Basketball Ring at the bottom of the falls and set about throwing ball after ball to get it in the hoop from way up top.
Pleased to say they did it safely with a tether holding them from falling each time they threw the ball too!
They did this time and time again, for eight hours a day for 6 days – then finally – one went in:
The lucky shot was taken by Derek Herron with his teammates, Brett Stanford and Scott Gaunson down the bottom to see it drop through the hoop.
Pretty awesome stuff – and an impressive spot to do it in no doubt!
