Intel’s new mini PCs with 8th Gen processors

Intel today announced a new range of mini computers they call NUC (Next Unit of Computing) featuring their 8th generation Core processors.

These mini PCs are great for people who are just doing basic computing, and don’t need the big bulky box of the past.  Your existing monitor will be fine, in fact you can plug one of these into your TV any HDMI screen will work.

John Deatherage, marketing director for Intel NUCs says “Intel NUCs are mini PCs that offer high-performance capabilities in a space-saving design and are perfectly suited for home theatre, home office, entry-level gaming or as a replacement for desktops when space is a concern. These new NUCs offer a number of new options that will fit a wide range of computing needs.”

But it’s not just the basics – as John says, you could use this as a home theatre PC running movies, or even basic gaming.  The devices can be specced up with Core i3, i5 or i7 processors so there’s no shortage of grunt.

They have 1TB of storage on board, 4 or 8GB of RAM, Windows 10 Home, SD Reader plus WiFi and Bluetooth as standard.

The new NUCs hit stores in September – no pricing yet, but expect the Core i3 version to start around the $600-$700 mark.
