Intel have dropped the ‘World’s Best’ Gaming Processor

This is one for my gaming nerds! Today Intel have released the latest in the i9 processor range, the i9-9900K claiming that it’s the world’s best gaming processor to date. This thing is looking real beefy – running at 5Ghz, with 8 cores and 16 threads.

Right about now, most of us that have built computers or spend our time worrying about CPU speeds are asking what exactly a ‘gaming’ processor is… How’s it different to a regular processor? Well, it isn’t necessarily different but it should be noted that it’s just a whole lot more powerful than a standard processor.

Intel are saying that “With Intel Turbo Boost Technology 2.0 delivering up to 5.0 GHz single-core frequency, gamers can enjoy their favorite games with up to 10 percent more FPS across popular gaming titles compared with the previous generation“.

Processors however aren’t only designed for gamers, the i9-9900K has also been built with content creators in mind – Intel are boasting “Video editing improved on Adobe Premiere – Up to 34 percent faster video editing compared with the previous generation and up to 97 percent faster compared with a 3-year-old PC“.

The i9 9900K is now available for pre-order from major retailers today, so start harassing your favourite computer-part dealer. The all-new Intel Z390 chipset motherboards will also be available for pre-order so keep your eyes peeled!
