It’s as contentious as Ford vs Holden, BBQ vs Tomato Sauce, Sydney v Melbourne, NRL vs AFL – the high tech gaming battle that is Xbox vs Playstation.
Now while each will tell us how big their sales are at any given time, particularly after a new console launch – there’s little doubt that in Aussie homes it’s a fairly even split.
So eBay crunched some numbers of their own, it’s not a survey of Aussie homes, instead it’s a look at which platform sells more games!
Looking at which game titles sell well on each side of the fence, Playstation users seem to love their hard core shooters:
XBox users are a bit more in the need for speed category, with Forza topping their charts
Turns out – the favourite overall – Playstation! With sales growth (on eBay) “outstripping that of the Xbox by almost double in the past 12 months.”
Gavin Dennis from eBay says “The gaming category continues to grow on eBay, driven both by exciting new game launches and innovation in the industry. Aussies across the country are keeping their finger on the pulse making sure they are first to get their hands on new products as they launch”.
Begs the question quite simply – are you Xbox or a Playstation?
