Arlo adds security products and Apple HomeKit integration at CES

Arlo are expanding their Smart Home technology even further from their base camera systems into a more wholistic Smart Home Security range and we’ve taken a look at the range here at CES in Las Vegas.

In addition to the just released Arlo Ultra camera, and the soon to hit Australia Arlo Doorbell, Arlo will in 2019 release a security pack that includes door sensors, a siren and a keychain for activation.

The most outstanding thing thus far we can tell you without fully testing the range is that the Door and Window sensors are also environment sensors.

Included in the security pack is also a Siren which can be indoor or outdoor and acts as a solid deterrent.

Perhaps the best thing is the simplest bit of genius yet is the keychain. With an Arm and Disarm button, you can simply press to activate your Arlo System. There’s also a new perimeter mode so you can activate just your external cameras.

Arlo is also working on an ecosystem of product integration called “Works with Arlo” to enhance the product offering across locks and even speakers – so you can play ambient noise or people talking inside your home if motion is detected, and finally, there’s Apple HomeKit integration coming in 2019 too.

A good launch for Arlo, and a very big 2019 ahead.
