One of my only criticisms of OPPO phones since their boom in the Western market has been the camera. When you’re designing budget phones, something has to give and in the case of OPPO they’ve traditionally allowed that space to be the camera. Well… not anymore.
OPPO have just announced that headed into 2019 their camera technology will be moving into an incredibly innovative space, offering a supposed 10x lossless zoom in a triple camera array.
The array consists of an Ultra Wide, Ultra ‘Clear Master’ (whatever that refers to) and a Telephoto lens. With all of the attention here being on that Telephoto that will theoretically offer the best lossless zoom in the market.
This announcement comes alongside a mention of a ‘wide zone’ fingerprint sensor that means the ENTIRE SCREEN will operate as a fingerprint sensor… These claims are huge for the Chinese manufacturer that have been producing brilliant budget phones. The only question that remains in the price.
We’ll be sure to review these technologies as soon as they’re available to us, so stay tuned.
