As if a million new mobile phones wasn’t enough, Samsung has thrown down a few new wearable products that will hit Australia before July too.
The three products are a new Smartwatch aimed at the fitness freak, an Activity tracking smart wristband and new in-ear headphones.
With the Galaxy Watch doing well for Samsung (the eSIM compatibility is now available on all three Aussie networks) the 2019 evolution of that sits alongside the watch in the market.
The Active is much smaller than the standard Galaxy Watch, at just 40mm it’s smaller than almost any other smartwatch.
Battery life should be 2-3 days, but it’s packed with all the fitness activity tracking you will need, including some 40 different Gym exercises available to be tracked.
Sleep too will be tracked, as well as blood pressure monitoring via an app and research project being undertaken with the University of California.
It’s still able to hit 5ATM or 50m underwater, but the big difference other than size is the removal of the rotating bezel.
Similar in design to the old Gear Fit, the Galaxy Fit is a more vertical wristband screen aimed at casual runners right up to athletes.
The primary feature of the Galaxy Fit is a week-long battery life – more than most smartwartches.
There are 90 activities in the Samsung Health app for tracking your workout.
Following on from the Samsung IconX earbuds, the Galaxy Buds are a big leap forward.
Tuned and made by AKG they will have improved sound quality and really offer value in what Samsung call the fastest growing category in the audio market – true wireless audio.
On ear controls will give you music control and also ambient noise input so you can choose to hear what’s going on around you.
Critically, the Galaxy Buds case is Qi wireless charging capable so can be placed down on any wireless charger and fuelled up – that includes the new Galaxy S10’s reverse charging back size!
All three products are destined for Australia, but pricing and availability is not yet known. We do know though that the Galaxy Buds will retail for $249 because they are being offered as an incentive to anyone who pre-orders a Galaxy S10 smartphone before March 8.
