Genesis G80 to launch in June

It’s been revealed Hyundai’s luxury brand Genesis will launch a G80 model in June this year. Two models will be on offer with a sports package available on offer as well.

It will set you back $68,900 for the entry level G80 with a 3.8-litre 232kW / 397 Nm petrol engine that sends power via an eight-speed transmission to the rear wheels. Other features include adaptive control suspension that has been tuned for Australian conditions along with a stack of safety kit including nine airbags.

The premium interior features what you’d expect from a car that is trying the emulate European competitors. The multimedia system is showcased via a 9.2-inch screen including satellite navigation. If you really enjoy your tunes a 17-speaker Lexicon by HARMAN premium audio system should do the job.

Other handy features include wireless smartphone charging, LED headlights and surround view revering camera.

Stepping up to the $88,900 3.8 Ultimate model brings with it more luxury via Nappa leather seats 19-inch alloy wheels, heated and cooled front and rear outboard seats, heated steering wheel, panorama sunroof, soft-close doors, head-up display, power adjustable rear seats, suede all over the headlining and A-pillars. There’s also a 7.0-inch colour TFT-LCD instrument cluster display.

A sports pack will set you back $4,000 that adds extra sporting flair inside and out.

Hyundai Australia Boss JW Lee said “The dynamic and luxurious new G80 sedan is a fitting flagship for the introduction of the Genesis brand to Australia,”

“The new Genesis G80 ushers in a uniquely stylish and sophisticated proposition in the large luxury segment.”
