Nissan Pathfinder updated, again. More safety kit as standard

Nissan can certainly milk a car for all its worth. The current Nissan Pathfinder can be traced way back towards the end of 2012. There’s been any number of modifications and overhauls since, but the fourth-generation just keeps on giving. Now vital safety technology has been added as standard to base models while a new grade and top of the range varients receive handy new features.

The Pathfinder ST now has factory-fitted Autonomous Emergency Breaking (AEB) with Forward Collision Warning, Blind Spot Monitoring, Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Adaptive Cruise Control. A Type C USB point also now finds its way into the second row, helping to future proof the car and all the various devices on the market that require it.

A new ST+ grade sits just above the ST and includes extras such as a 360-degreee camera and satellite navigation.

The ST-L includes all of the above but gets brighter adaptive LED headlights, while the range-topping Nissan Pathfinder Ti now has sensors (Rear Door Alert) to remind you the kids are still in the back when you get out of the car, the rear pew can also now be heated.

Nissan Boss Stephen Lester said, “Whether it’s technology, safety or the abundance of space, the Nissan Pathfinder has everything that active families require,”

“As we continue to listen to our customers, we are excited to bolster the Nissan Pathfinder’s strong list of standard Nissan Intelligent Mobility active safety technologies.

“The Nissan Pathfinder offers a strengthened grade walk and important new technology in Rear Door Alert that is designed to remind the driver of second row occupants.

“It offers a compelling package for large SUV buyers.”

The Nissan Pathfinder kicks off at $43,390 before on roads. There’s seven colours to choose from and three interior trim options.
