Amazon Echo Show 5 – a Small screen that does it all

We’re falling deeper in love with the smart screens coming to life from a range of brands, and tonight Amazon hits us with something new again.

Following on from their successful Echo Show – the Echo Shoe 5 is a compact, smaller Show device with a 5.5 inch screen.

The real cracker here though is the price – $129 – that’s epic.

That’s what Lenovo are charging for their Smart Clock, which is great, but lets be honest, that’s just a clock when compared to the Echo Show concept.

“Since we launched the first Echo Show device, customers have told us that they love asking Alexa to show them things—whether it’s a recipe for chicken parma, their to-do list, or Prime Video. With Echo Show 5, we’ve made it even easier and affordable for customers to add a smart display to every room of their house,” said Tom Taylor, Senior Vice President, Amazon Alexa. “The compact form factor is perfect for a bedside table or desk, plus it has a camera shutter for added peace of mind, and new Alexa privacy features for even more control.”

Be it for playing music, watching video or just getting visual answers to your questions – it’s a simple but effective screen that fits into any room.

For those of us with smart cameras like Arlo or Ring – you can simply ask Alexa to show you what’s happening on any camera you choose.

Because there’s a camera built in – you can have a hands-free video call with any of your family and friends using the Alexa App, Skype or another Echo Show device.

You can even drop into another room and tell the kids that dinner is ready!

Pre-orders start today, it will ship next month and as I said before, $129 – what a steal!
