Volvo has today announced pricing for its S60 luxury sedan prior to its arrival in August. The S60 fills the final gap in a very slick line-up that includes luxury SUV’s for every need plus the full-sized S90 sedan.
Volvo Australia Boss Nick Connor said: “Sedan and wagon vehicles have always been popular with Australian car buyers, and with the addition of our S60 and V60 vehicles we intend to reinvigorate those body styles. Our sedan and wagon vehicles are regarded as the most stylish in the world, with both vehicles recently nominated for the 2019 World Car of the Year Awards.”
“In such a competitive market you need to stand out from the crowd.” “We are confident that with their very distinctive look and competitive pricing the S60 and the V60 will make an immediate impact with buyers who are looking for something very different from the staid models in the luxury segment today.”
“S60 and V60 are the perfect cars for the Australian lifestyle and both perfectly complement our already award-winning SUV line-up.” “With the addition of these two vehicles our entire model line is now new and fresh.”
“We have saved the best for last”.
Both the S60 and V60 score Volvo’s semiautonomous Pilot Assist system, Autonomous Emergency Braking, Run-off Road protection with mitigation, Cross Traffic Alert with auto brake and a bird’s eye view 360° reversing camera.
The launch will happen over the first two weeks of August. Both vehicles will be offered with two petrol-powered powertrains. The T5 engine pumps out 187kW and 350Nm of torque whilst the T8 Twin Engine Plug-in hybrid delivers a combined 311kW and a massive 680Nm of torque.
Both cars also score standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The familiar variants remain being the Momentum, Inscription and sports orientated R-Design.
For T5 S60 variants pricing begins at $54,990, $60,990 for the Inscription, $64,990 for the R-Design. The T8 R-Design starts at $85,990. For T5 V60 variants pricing starts at $56,990 for the Momentum, $62,990 for the Inscription and $66,990 for the R-Design. The flagship V60 T8 R-Design kicks off at $87,990
