Living on The Mountain!

Imagine living on one of the world’s great race circuits, in fact 3.66 acres of it. Well that could become a reality if you’re prepared to bid for number 212 Mountain Straight, Mount Panorama in Bathurst.

According to a listing on realestate.com.au this home is one of a kind…

A unique and special opportunity exists to acquire a resort style property on the iconic Mt Panorama, Bathurst.

This exquisite property is nestled beautifully into the mountain at the top of the infamous Mountain Straight with north facing views over Bathurst and well beyond.

Positioned in fully landscaped gardens and natural bush this home has never been offered for sale before.

The property features include, but are not limited to 5 Bedrooms, 4 Bathrooms, 3 car garaging, resort style in-ground self-cleaning magnesium pool with alfresco entertaining. All living areas open to expansive views via verandas or balconies, with downstairs enjoying direct access to the croquet lawn. The home has 2 magnificent rooms with round windows to maximise the stunning outlook, one being the upstairs dining room and the other being the wet bar downstairs. Downstairs also hosts 3 bedrooms and a lounge room.

The property has direct access to the Mt Panorama circuit with additional access used during race events. Viewing the great race is also very easy, again directly from the property, you can’t get much closer.

I actually had my wedding reception on the mountain at what was called “Algona” but is now the Mount Panorama Estate Vineyard, it’s a beautiful location.

But I have heard from locals that living on the mountain can be a tad annoying at times. Aside from the Bathurst 1000 there’s any number of events that restrict access, including the Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour, Hi-Tec Oils Bathurst 6 Hour and Challenge Bathurst. Plus other events on track and off-track like the Bathurst Light Car Club sprints and hillclimbs, Bathurst Cycling Classic, Panorama Motor Cycle Club, Bathurst Sporting Shooters Association of Australia, Bathurst Clay Target Club, Bathurst Rifle Club, and the Bathurst Cycling Club.

If I had the cash I’d be knocking down the front door, one can only dream!
