EXCLUSIVE: Mintt mobile phones launching in Australia – $179-$399 prices

You’ve never heard of Mintt mobile – but don’t worry – neither had I. But in fact it’s an Aussie company which has been selling mobile phones in Papua New Guinea and Timor-Leste for a few years now.

Review: Mintt Smartphone cameras – how do they stack up?

It appears they are coming home though, with their website listing Australia among it’s operating areas describing themselves as a “lifestyle brand throughout Australia, Asia, Papua New Guinea and the South Pacific.”

We’re expecting a formal announcement about the brand’s launch here in Australia in the weeks ahead given the website shows the company has some form of partnership with Channel 9’s “The Block” program which launches in early August.

From the information available online it appears the company will launch with some audio products including a Bluetooth speaker and wireless headphones, as well as five smartphones priced between $179 and $399

It’s unclear if the Mintt branded smartphones will hit retail stores or telco channels, though it is clear they intend to sell direct to consumers via their website with “backorders” now being taken for the products currently on their site.
