Audi Connect Plus video review – it’s no gimmick

Audi connect plus has arrived on the new Audi A6 and will be rolled out for future models soon. Essentially this is another app that links to your car, unlocking a world of new features.

Aussie Audi Boss, Paul Sansom says, “Audi connect plus is the perfect contemporary example of our innovative Vorsprung durch Technik spirit in action,”

“Owners can see real-time traffic information and avoidance options, check petrol station fuel prices, or the availability of spaces at a parking station, as well as advanced assistance and emergency response services when they are needed most.

“Our team has worked hard to bring this advanced suite of services to Australia for almost five years, after a testing, evaluation and adaptation program for our local market.

“The potential for this technology to evolve the way owners use their vehicles is game-changing, and so as a result, the majority of our new models in the future will have Audi connect plus as a standard feature when it’s available.”

Using a built in SIM the system makes use of the mobile network to unleash handy info for the driver. From fuel pricing to parking spots or even having the weather read to you, it’s a nice addition

Sending navigation directions to a car is not new, but there’s no other car that uses Google Maps better than Audi. The Virtual Instrument Cluster is just a wonder and perfect for this kind of connectivity.

I have seen most of this before, but for A6, A7, Q8 and A8 deliveries it’s sure to impress customers loyal to the brand.

Plus check out in my video how it overcomes the dreaded DAB radio loss of reception in tunnels. Very cool indeed. We will have more details on the A6 55 TFSI quattro S line later this month.
