ECOVACS launch new flagship – The DEEBOT OZMO 950

Ecovacs Robotics has been a real trailblazer in the robot vacuum space, trust me I’ve used three. But at IFA 2019 a new flagship model has arrived called the DEEBOT OZMO 950. The brand also has a new visual identity, for the rest of us that means logo!

The 950 has been awarded the IFA Product Technical Innovation Award for its Mapping Technology. This new baby will hit Australia in October, with the ambitious promise of delivering a “Nothing Missed” cleaning experience.

It can map a multi-floor house via new mapping technology, plus is said to have three hours of battery life. My DEEBOT OZMO 900 lasts at best 40 minutes.

Jonathan Tang, Vice President, Head of Global Business at ECOVACS ROBOTICS said; “ECOVACS aims to play a key role in the development of the service robotics industry in the next 20 or even 100 years,”

“The new brand Visual Identity goes well beyond a Logo. It represents ECOVACS’ brand spirit, which is innovative and vibrant, as well as our commitment to building an intelligent home service robotics brand.”

The new machine is the brand’s most powerful sucker yet, it has an upgraded Smart Navi 3.0 Laser Mapping and Navigation Technology and OZMO Mopping Technology.

The thing about multi-floor cleaning is that obviously you’ll need to cart it upstairs every other day. I mean it doesn’t have legs, yet.

There’s a new pressure-retention system and Floating Brush 2.0 which produces less noise. It can clear 4mm deep cracks, so there’s no place for hidden dust to hide. The DEEBOT OZMO 950 also features a Max+ Mode to increase suction power.

As usual the Ecovacs Home App can control the vacuum remotely, while Amazon Echo and Google Home are also integrated.

Karen Powell, Country Manager for ECOVACS ROBOTICS Australia and New Zealand, said;

“ECOVACS ROBOTICS designed the DEEBOT OZMO 950 to meet growing consumer demand for a smarter, more affordable vacuum robot with premium features that include vacuuming, mopping and smart-home capabilities and we are excited to be launching this shortly in Australia,”

“By combining intelligent mapping, navigation technology, energy-efficiency, automated mopping capabilities and new designs for the robots to enhance mobility, our robots ensure that the always missed spots can be well taken care. ECOVACS robots are already the first choice of over 15 million families around the world, are we’re delighted that an ever-growing number of Australian households are among them.”

In terms of pricing we expect the DEEBOT OZMO 950 to come in around the $1000.00 mark. Which really should be the ceiling for vacuum cleaners these days. We look forward to giving one a whirl.
