Tesla Software Version 10.0 on the way

Time for another over-the-air update for Tesla and this time it’s a big welcome to Version 10.0. Tesla claim it is the biggest software extravaganza ever for the brand.

Highlights include:

Tesla Theatre

For all three models. It enables Netflix, YouTube, Hulu or Hulu + Live TV accounts. Although keep in mind this information is based on U.S. specs thus far.

Smart Summon

This feature will only be activated the U.S.A. you can watch a demo here. Smart Summon requires Full Self-Driving Capability or Enhanced Autopilot, the first of which is still not allowed to operate within our boarders. It can enable the car to navigate carparks to come and collect you at the front door of Woollies for example. One caveat is that the car must remain in line of sight. So basically, the car can come to you while you struggle with a load of shopping.

I love this line from Tesla “Those using Smart Summon must remain responsible for the car and monitor it and its surroundings at all times.” Good luck with that.

Karaoke

The new “Car-aoke” comes with a huge library of songs that includes lyrics, with support for multiple languages that will display on the screen.

Restaurants & Destinations

New “I’m Feeling Lucky” and “I’m Feeling Hungry” modes are navigation features that will take you on a blind dinner date within the car’s range. During testing this has included hole-in-the-wall restaurants, gourmet meals, national parks, city landmarks and more.

Music & Podcasts

Spotify Premium account access will be enabled in all supported markets. The same applies to TuneIn, radio.

Tesla Arcade

New games can now be enjoyed including Cuphead, a popular run-and-gun action game. It involves travelling strange worlds, acquiring new weapons, learning super moves, and discovering hidden secrets while you try to pay your debt back to the devil.

It also allows for a USB controller, single-player and co-op modes are available to play in the Tesla Edition of Cuphead, which includes the game’s full first level as you play as Cuphead or Mugman.

Security & Convenience

USB storage has been sorted for for Dashcam and Sentry Mode features. Video clips taken by Sentry Mode will now be stored on a separate folder on your USB drive. Older clips will be automatically be deleted when space is low.

A new “Joe Mode” lowers the cabin volume for select alerts such as parking chimes, perfect if you don’t want to wake up your sleeping infant.

The Tesla app can do more including opening and closing your garage door via HomeLink, defrosting the vehicle’s cabin at the maximum temperature, and remotely controlling your Model 3 and Model X windows.

Streaming Media & Browser Support Coming to all Model 3 Vehicles

All Model 3 Standard Range Plus and Standard Range vehicles will also gain the streaming features.
