Apple has just launched what it calls Apple News+, an innovative and surprisingly cheap way to access many of our major newspaper and magazine mastheads.
$14.99 a month will give you access to titles such as The Australian, The Daily Telegraph, Herald Sun, The Courier Mail, The Advertiser, Vogue, Australian Women’s Health, Elle, The Australian Women’s Weekly, Harper’s Bazaar Australia, GQ, Australian Men’s Health, Delicious and Australian Geographic.
The digital content will be pumped through the Apple News app and also include offshore publications such as The Wall Street Journal (US), Los Angeles Times (US), The Times (UK), The Sunday Times (UK), National Geographic (US), Rolling Stone (US), Grazia (UK) and Hello! (UK).
The content is designed for iPhone, iPad and Mac. Offline reading is also available.
Lauren Kern, editor-in-chief of Apple News said, “Apple News+ offers hundreds of the world’s most popular publications, all discoverable through personalised and curated recommendations,”
“The quality of the journalism, the beautiful photography, the stunning live covers and custom-designed articles in this collection are second to none. We think readers in Australia will be delighted with the offering, and we are proud to support the work of our newest publisher partners.”
Customers can sign for a free month one trial from today, before the $14.99 subscription kicks in. Up to six family members can share under one account via Family Sharing.
Why would you ever buy an actual newspaper again?
Chris was EFTM’s Motoring Editor for many years, driving everything from your entry level hatch to the latest Luxury cars through to the Rolls Royce.
He has been in the media for 20 years, produced three Olympic games broadcasts, attending Beijing 2008 & London 2012.
Strangely he owns a Toyota Camry Hybrid, he defiantly rejects the knockers.
Chris is married to Gillian and resides in Sydney’s North West. They have Sam the English Springer Spaniel and Felix the Burmese cat to keep them company, and recently welcomed baby Henry to the family.
He has now left EFTM, and writes freelance and runs his own Facebook Page “Bowen’s Garage”
