Uniden expands App Cam range: including a wireless pan & tilt outdoor camera

This is easily one of the hottest segments in the tech market today, home security. While it’s not new, the innovation in recent years has challenged established players and created a genuinely DIY market for home security.

Today Uniden expanded their “App Cam” range with several models, including something we’ve not seen before – a wireless pan & tilt camera.

The App Cam Solo PT runs on a rechargable battery, can be solar powered, and has a 355-degree pan range, and 140-degree tilt – allowing you to “look around” remotely via the Uniden app!

Often one of your cameras is placed so it gets a great view in one direction, but actually you need to use two cameras to cover the area you want to see.

With the App Cam Solo PT you can use the one camera, and move the camera to see action around it.

It comes with a Uniden Solar Panel meaning you can position it without having to consider the constant change of battery some wire-free cameras require.

Under the hood, the new Solo PT also carries forward the Solo+ features like Thermo sense which detects body head and movement to reduce the number of false motion alerts you get.

Additionally, Uniden announced the App Cam Solo Bullet which is a Full HD camera that has that daunting traditional security camera look to it to give it the full deterrent effect, plus comes with a Solar Panel so there’s continuous power.

Both cameras will launch early next year with pricing yet to be confirmed.

Finally, taking on Ring’s floodlight directly is the Uniden App Cam Floodlight. This guy needs to be wired in and installed by an electrician, but with 2,500 lumens of light shining bright when motion is detected, it’s an excellent deterrent at your front and back doors.
