A little over a year ago, China’s “Chang’e 4” became the very first spacecraft to land on what’s known as the far side of the moon.
On 3 January 2019 at 2:26 UTC Chang’e 4 became the first spacecraft to land on the far side of the Moon.
The moon’s “far side” is always facing away from earth – and as such we’ve not seen much of it, and it’s a very different landscape with many more impact craters among other things.
But that landing by China has produced some stunning images. And China has released them for all of us to see.
They
Are
Beautiful.
Really cool stuff.
Bring on more space exploration I say!
If you’re keen – there’s a whole Google Drive full of pics for you to browse – kudos to the CNSA for making them available for all of us space nerds.
