Samsung’s sleek Galaxy Book S laptop hits Australia on January 31 for $1,699

When you take a step back from the market and take a look at what is really going on, and consider what sort of device might really cut through in Australia – you get a whole new look at things.

That’s exactly what Samsung have done – they’ve not sold laptops in Australia for a few years, but in August at the Note 10 launch they also revealed a sleek looking laptop that was destined for down under.

Today, Samsung announced pricing and availability for the Galaxy Book S and it’s aimed fair and square at the Macbook Air with the same starting price, but it’s a completely different product.

No need to tether your smartphone or carry around a WiFi hotspot to get your laptop online, the Galaxy Book S is 4G connected so it’s open and go ready.

At just 961 grams and 11.8mm thin, it’s super sleek too.

But in reality, the genius of this device is building a mobile device into a bigger form factor – that’s giving it a massive 25 hours of battery life. Yep – Twenty-Five hours.

Garry McGregor from Samsung Australia can’t wipe the smile from his face when he talks about it, saying “The Galaxy Book S creates a new proposition for our Australian customers seeking the best in Samsung mobile computing, LTE connectivity, and in the format of a Windows 10 powered laptop.

“The Galaxy Book S is a sleek, powerful and beautifully designed connected laptop that will also provide great battery life throughout the day. It’s an excellent device to empower Australians to always be connected while they work from almost any location, whether it’s out on the road, at the airport, or when roaming overseas.”

“Samsung is dedicated to providing a seamless, connected mobile experience for our customers across our portfolio of devices. The Galaxy Book S represents our evolving proposition to combine productivity, design and powerful computing to support our customers.

“Australians expect connected technology to operate seamlessly throughout their day. The Galaxy Book S is a productivity powerhouse that is perfectly suited for ambitious, on-the-go Australians who don’t have a moment to waste.”

You’ll find the Samsung Galaxy Book S at JB Hi-Fi, Harvey Norman and Samsung direct from January 31 priced at $1,699.
