Foxtel adds extra channels, multi-room Chromecast and more for FREE during Self-Isolation

With so many Aussies staying home – as advised by the government – there’s plenty of questions about just how to stay entertained, and perhaps even some fights over the remote control. Foxtel has today announced a range of changes to their offering to all customers during this crisis.

  • All Foxtel customers no matter what plan you’re on, will get access to the FULL range of Drama, Lifestyle, Reality, Documentaries, Entertainment and Kids live TV channels and on-demand content.
  • Additionally, all customers will be able to use the Foxtel Go app to stream any content or live TV channel via Chromecast – this was previously only available to customers who had more than one IQ box as a multiroom customer.
  • Streaming customers using Foxtel Now will have the Drama Extra, Docos, Pop, Lifestyle and Kids packs added to their Essentials, Pop or Lifestyle packs
  • If you’re a Foxtel Broadband or Foxtel NBN customer, you’ll be given an Unlimited broadband data allowance.

These changes are effective from today, until May 31, and that end date will be reviewed closer to time with consideration given to the status of any government lockdowns.

Foxtel CEO Patrick Delany said: “We have heard from our customers that during these challenging times, one of the things that really makes a difference is being able to keep the whole family entertained, informed and connected as they settle in at home.”

“We’re all in this together and we want them to know that Foxtel is there for them. These initiatives provide customers with an even better entertainment experience in their homes with more content, access on more screens and more data, all at no extra charge.”

Delaney also went on to say “I want to acknowledge the support we have received from all our content partners to make this happen including Discovery, BBC Studios, ViacomCBS, Turner, NBC Universal and National Geographic.”

Bravo Foxtel, Bravo.

No more remote fights, get yourself a Chromecast and you can leave the kids with the Foxtel Remote while you stream your Foxtel choice in the other room.
